I realize I haven’t actually written much about music lately, but here’s a list of concerts I’m excited for:

1. Dan Deacon at Ottobar
2. Cymbals Eat Guitars at Rock n Roll Hotel
3. Miike Snow and Delorean (mostly Delorean) at 9:30 Club
4. Gang Gang Dance at Ottobar
5. Japandroids and Love is All at Rock n Roll Hotel

The iPad (Round 2 updates).

It’s dumb. I won’t be buying one, and that’s all I have to say about it.

Now, can we please start speculating wildly and irresponsibly about iPhone 4.0 already?

Update, 28 Jan.: To be clear, I can’t get over the lack of multitasking and Flash support. But if those things show up in an iPhone 4.0 SDK, as BGR thinks they might, I’d be on board…for the next iPhone. Still probably not for the iPad.

Font and center.

I’m trying out Typekit, after sitting on it for months. If the fonts don’t look different, you should get a new browser.

Initial thoughts: initial load times are noticeable and the free font library is pretty weak, but it displays uncommon fonts without any extra effort, and it takes much less bandwidth than images do. Grades out at a solid B.

My 2009 albums of the year.

Yes, it’s almost a month into 2010, and no, I didn’t actually write anything about the albums. Also, I didn’t capitalize the list, since it was a work in progress. You could say I dropped the ball on this one. On the other hand, I will take the time to link to the Lala album page and include a sample track from each (Update: This obviously took a lot longer than capitalization would have.
