Sep 08Everyone needs a dropbox.
I used to transfer files by attaching them to a draft in Gmail. It was functional, and I didn’t waste money on something like Apple’s MobileMe or other sync/backup services. But thanks to the power of the Intertubes, there’s a better (and still free) way: Dropbox. It lets you sync documents by dragging and dropping into a folder, which you can access from any Windows, Mac or Linux computer with Dropbox; you can share files with other Dropbox users; and you can manage your Dropbox from any computer/iPhone, thanks to their handy site. The only downsides are a 2gb storage limit on free accounts and incompatibility with PDAs/Blackberrys (which I don’t have). But it is pretty cool and I have 10 invites, so 10 lucky commenters get to try a cool productivity enhancer/toy. Drop yr email so I know where to send it.
