Sep 08They are legion. They do not forgive.
I used to be terrified of Sarah Palin. I thought she was going to become Vice-President of the United States, slap a hunting blind on the side of Air Force One and fly around taking potshots at political opponents.
No longer. The woman is dirtier than Cheney or Rove, and the world knows it. Palin’s already under investigation for conducting (probably-shady) state business* from Yahoo email accounts, gov.palin and gov.sarah@yahoo.com. On Tuesday, an anonymous hacker aligned with 4chan’s /b/ forum guessed her password, and Gawker reposted the screenshots–there’s nothing incriminating or politically damaging, although the sensitive may be offended that people besides Sarah Palin are exploiting her family. On a side note, the story gets even funnier, because of this quote from the email investigation:
“There’s a reason the governor should be using her own official e-mail channels, because of security and encryption,” the lawyer said. “She’s running state business out of Yahoo?” [WaPost]
The McCain/Palin camp issued a statement in response, saying that
“This is a shocking invasion of the Governor’s privacy and a violation of law. The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these emails will destroy them. We will have no further comment.”
This is a pretty interesting case, as most of Anonymous’ actions tend to be. It’ll be interesting to see if any of the emails leak, and if so, whether they contain incriminating evidence against Palin. I kind of hope so. More on this later.
* Ms. Palin seems to have attended the Sonny Corleone School of Business.
