In today’s “fucking shitstain” news, we have George Tiller’s murderer getting sentenced to life in prison:
Roeder argued he had chosen to obey “God’s law” to save babies.
“I did kill him. It was not a murder,” Roeder said. “If you were to obey the higher power of God himself, you would acquit me.”
Bold added. Now, there are the obvious, glaring holes in his thought processes (You did pull the trigger, douchenozzle) and biblical scholarship (thou shalt not kill; turn the other cheek; judge not, lest ye be judged; etc. etc.), and this guy deserves a lot worse, but that’s definitely a start.
Meanwhile, the Daily Beast has a nugget about the Hutaree psychopaths:
The Hutaree…believe violent human actions can hasten the coming of the end times. Their core beliefs revolve around what they expect to be a final, great battle, known as the Tribulation, at the conclusion of human history, when they believe an Antichrist will attempt to take over the world.
According to their Web site, the Hutaree prepare and engage in military training because they anticipate the coming of the Antichrist, and are committed to “…defend all those who belong to Christ and save all those who aren’t.”
The rest of the article mentions that “end times” believers are more likely to be okay with destroying the planet and people on it–because hey, it’s not like this is real life, and there are surely no carbon emissions in the kingdom of heaven. But beyond the obvious looniness, these people legitimately believe they can defeat the Antichrist with AR-15s and pipe bombs?
