a complete impediment to understanding

It’s been 14 years. I feel old.

The main thing I remember seeing Hoop Dreams with my dad was that the theater was apparently out of P’s; the marquee’s lit-from-behind moveable-type letters read “Hoo Dreams.” The rest has mostly faded away–it was a pretty long time ago. Long enough for the two protagonists to have a combined nine kids.

The article sparked a vague memory of another “Where are they now?” piece on Ashley White, the adorable girl from Spellbound. It’s from 2004, but still worth a read.
