Nov 092009 NFL picks, Week 10.
Another week of 1-2 picks. Sigh.
Chicago Bears +3.5 at San Francisco 49ers*
* Initially, I wanted to pick the Bears, but then I remembered that their offensive line is awful, their defense is slumping, and San Francisco is not-as-awful across the board. Then I didn’t finish the post in time, so no one will believe that I actually picked them.
Seattle Seahawks +9 at Arizona Cardinals
This looks like another early blowout. Although I’m not sure Boldin’s return will have that much of an impact, the Seahawks can’t cover big receivers with their Mighty Mouse corners. Though their defense should be able to pressure Warner, Hasselbeck and co. don’t have much of a shot at pulling the upset–the game against the Lions was a lot closer than the final score, and only that last-second interception return for a touchdown completely put the game away (it also won me my matchup against the #1 team in my fantasy league).
Kansas City Chiefs +2 at Oakland Raiders
These two teams are awful, but KC is marginally less awful.
Baltimore Ravens -11 at Cleveland Browns
Baltimore has beat up on bad teams, and lost to good ones. The secondary has, as feared, proven to be the weak link for the second straight year, and the team continues to rack up penalty yards. The lackluster pass rush hasn’t helped matters much. But Cleveland is incredibly bad, and with Brady Quinn at quarterback, the Ravens corners can play tight coverage, as they did throughout the Broncos game.
