2009 Week 11 NFL picks.

I went 4-0 last week, although the Ravens gave me a scare with their first-half goose egg. Let’s see how long it takes my luck to run out.

Miami Dolphins +3 at Carolina Panthers
I feel surprisingly good about this pick, considering half of the Wildcat (Brown) is out for the week, and possibly the year. It might have something to do with the fact that I own Ricky in my fantasy league.

That said, this is a reasonably good matchup for Miami. Their defense is somewhat better than Carolina’s, and although the Panthers offense has come on strong the last few weeks, their special teams are still atrocious–they rank 29th in special teams DVOA, while Miami is 8th.

Arizona Cardinals -9 at St. Louis Rams
It’s hard to sufficiently underscore how bad the Rams are this year. I feel bad for Steven Jackson, who accounts for something like 45% of the Rams’ total yards from scrimmage. With a better offensive line, he’d probably be having an MVP season.

Philadelphia Eagles -3 at Chicago Bears
Are the Eagles going to show up? Are the Bears going to show up? Who knows, but the Eagles have a shot at the single-game sack record against Chicago’s offensive line. Cutler’s questionable decision-making makes him a good bet for at least two turnovers against the Philly pass rush.
