Sep 08NFL opening week, pt. 1
Just based on the games I saw:
- Bengals @ Ravens
Baltimore: bad offense, good defense, dumb penalties (So much for a culture change). Pass rush needs to improve–for all the pressure they brought, I think they ended up with one sack. Still, it’s a win.
Cincy: bad defense, bad offense, bad luck. - Chiefs @ Patriots
Well, there goes the season, Pats fans. - Bears @ Colts (in progress)
Is Kyle friggin’ Orton screwing up my teaser? Or maybe I should blame Indy’s defensive coordinator, who’s spreading his linemen across several zip codes despite da Bears running wild.
Update: Hey, Mike Hart! I kind of hope he can stick around–even though he played for Michigan.
Theory in need of research: Offenses take a lot longer to get synced up than defenses, especially with so many teams resting starters during the preseason. Betting the under seems to be a good idea in early weeks.
