Now that I’m married, it’s time to get back into it:

  • Android fragmentation visualized. The lesson here: buy a nice phone with a clean Android install, like, say, a Nexus One (Except you can’t buy these new anymore. Pick up a Nexus S or wait for the Galaxy Nexus, I guess–or just buy an iPhone).
  • Climate skeptic accidentally buttresses climate change data.
  • I’m with Doug Farrar–Penn State absolutely deserves the NCAA’s “death penalty” for covering up Jerry Sandusky’s abuse. I’d also just like to point out that, despite plenty of evidence of the Catholic Church protected/still protects sexual predators, I haven’t seen any bishops in handcuffs. Also, his autobiography was named Touched. So…
  • I saw Louis CK on Sunday. As usual, he was funny, insightful, and earnest (Won’t spoil anything–the set is going to be his next special). Here’s Alyssa’s writeup.

  1. I desperately wanted this to be wrong.
  2. It’s not great for a product when “It really doesn’t suck” is the best defense you can make. Somewhat ironically, here’s a former-Amazon-turned-Googler who thinks Amazon’s done at least one thing much better than el Goog.
  3. Does this mean Ezra Klein and I are getting married on the same day? Hey, also, if you didn’t know why posting has been sparse lately: I’m getting married.

  1. Old and busted: LAPD brutality. New hotness: Oakland police brutality.
  2. The NFL (probably) shipped Vick to Philly. In all fairness, no one really wants to go to Buffalo.
  3. Did Motorola bludgeon Google into their deal?
  4. Groupon: still unprofitable, also resembles a Ponzi scheme.
  5. AT&T’s overcharging you for texts by 10 million percent.
  6. Cell phones might (might) make men sterile.

  1. Citing the $2.5B breakup fee, this guy doesn’t believe Google’s buying Motorola for “defensive patents.” Very intriguing arguments, although I have no real way to evaluate them. Via @TimOReilly.
  2. Ma Bell’s plan for AT&T-Mo LTE.
  3. Serious Eats visits, enjoys Attman’s. FWIW, though, Baltimore no longer has a “corned beef row”–it’s basically just Attman’s and Lenny’s.
  4. The BART cell-phone shutdown might be a harbinger of things to come in the US.
