Jan 10Another reason for unsubsidized handsets.
Via Engadget, it sounds like Google’s charging an early termination fee (ETF) for the Nexus One. ETFs are pretty common in the wireless industry, and are usually around $150-200, depending on the amount of time left on the contract (of course, Verizon’s got their hands in so many pockets that the FCC even told them to knock it the fuck off). However, Google is charging $350 if you cancel during the first two three months of service (after the two-week trial period), in addition to T-Mobile’s $200 fee.
Don’t be evil, guys.
